Brandeis University's Community Newspaper — Waltham, Mass.

In response to social awkwardness

Published: November 2, 2007
Section: Opinions

Dear Editor,

It was with great disdain that I read another tiresome article about social awkwardness and other criticisms of the Brandeis community. (“Are Brandeis students unattractive and awkward?”, Oct. 26) I for one will not remain quiet while my fellow 'Deisians are belittled by the likes of another sophomoric columnist. It is disgusting to allow something so unfounded to be published in our midst.

The fact of the matter is that such articles are written by disgruntled students whose own unfortunate appearances make them label everyone else as “awkward” or “unattractive” in order to justify their perpetual single status. It is not going to work any longer.

That is all.
