In response to the plight of the Palestinians
Published: November 2, 2007Section: Opinions
Dear Editor,
It is important for Israel to be just and moral not only for the sake of the Palestinians and their rights, but first and foremost for Israel itself. As a country, people and society need to have justice as its basis. What is happening over there right now should be studied, by going there, by searching the net, by reading books, by listening and debating but no less by being there and seeing with your own eyes. It is important to have an open dialogue based on real issues and true information.
The plight of the Palestinians today has many reasons. We, in Israel, and those who care about Israel, have to face the consequences of having ruled over the Palestinians in Israel and in the occupied territories for 60 and 40 years respectively. Israel has been responsible for the law of the land all these years. It does not work. Surly there could be some other ways to conduct this conflict. Better future for Palestinians means better future for us in Israel.
