Letters to the Editor: In response to “Why we fear authority”

Published: November 9, 2007
Section: Opinions

Dear Editor,

When I read that Emma Needleman finds it necessary to hurry past Brandeis police officers when she sees them at night (“Why we fear authority, Nov.2), I felt a touch of sadness. Unfortunately, the safety afforded to us by the vigilance of our police force is not always met with the respect that such service deserves. Instead of shunning our police officers or treating them like trigger-happy sociopaths, we ought to take a moment to appreciate their contributions to the safety of our Brandeis bubble.
