This past weekend was the Wesleyan Invitational. Brandeis took part in the meet, along with Wesleyan University, Bentley College, and MIT. Both the men and women had 23 events each.

The Brandeis womens team finished third out of the four teams. Brandeis got off to a slow start, as they didnt finish higher than fourth until the ninth womens event, when Brandeis got third in the 200-Yard Medley Relay. The lack of top three finishes continued until the 16th womens event, when Keara DeKay 08 finished second in the 1650-Yard Freestyle and Silver J. Deutch 07 splashed in third place. From then on, Brandeis had a swimmer finish in the top three. Sharon Makowsky 06 found herself second in the 200-Yard Backstroke and the 200-Yard Butterfly. Sarah Evans 06 got second in the 100-Yard Freestyle. Deutch was the second place finisher in the 200-Yard Breaststroke. In the final race of the day, Brandeis finished second in the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay. Charlotte Rea 08 fwas victorioust in both the 1 meter diving and the 3 meter diving.

The Brandeis mens team finished second. Brandeis had someone finish in the top three in the majority of the events. Brandeis got three victories as Lev Davidson 06 won the 200-Yard Breaststroke, while Hal Grossman 07 won the 50-Yard Freestyle and the 200-Yard Freestyle. Grossman also came in third in the 500-Yard Freestyle, third in the 1650-Yard Freestyle, and second in the 100-Yard Freestyle. Matt Lerman 07 finished second in the 100-Yard and 200-Yard Breaststroke and posted a third place finish in the 50-Yard Breaststroke.

Nick Rice 08 came in second in the 200-Yard Backstroke and third in the 50-Yard Backstroke. Ross Gercenstein 06 claimed third in the 50-Yard Butterfly as well as in the 100-Yard Backstroke. Todd Berman 07 captured third place in the 200-Yard Butterfly. Brandeis also finished second in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay and the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay.

Brandeis takes on Tufts University on Saturday, Dec. 10, at home at noon.
