This past week brought mixed results for the Brandeis swim teams. On Jan 14, the Men and Womens Swimming teams traveled to MIT to take on MIT and Colby College. MIT and Colby both dominated Brandeis. Part of the failure for the Brandeis men was that they only finished in the top three seven times out of 16 events. The men started off well. They finished second in the 400-Yard Medley Relay and then Hal Grossman 07 won the 1000-Yard Freestyle (10:30.49). That would be the only victory for Brandeis on this day. In the 100-Yard Backstroke, Brandeis didnt finish in the top five. Matt Lerman 07 got third place in the 100-Yard Breaststroke. Several events later, Grossman got third place in the 100-Yard Freestyle. This was followed up by Brandeis failing to finish in the top six in the 200-Yard Backstroke. Grossman finished in the top three for the third time with a third place finish in the 500-Yard Freestyle. Todd Berman 07 then got second place in the 100-Yard Butterfly (54.76).
