For the past month, all I hear about is Snakes on a Plane. Its everywhere. Dedicated fans popped up before the movie even came out. But I didnt see it, so Im not going to write about it. Sorry to all you nutty Snakes enthusiasts.

At lunchtime today, a certain columnist for The Hoot, who has been away for the weekend, learns that his hero, Steve Irwin, known the world over as the Crocodile Hunter, is dead. Dear readers, this is a shameless eulogy. No apologies are forthcoming.

NYC Brandeisians’ words on 9/11, five years later

I was in school when the teacher announced that terrorists attacked the Twin Towers. We were all sent home immediately. On the drive home, we could see the smoke lifting from the downtown area.

Women’s soccer loses two in overtime

Brandeis Womens soccer has gotten off to a heartbreaking start. Two games played, two overtimes forced, two straight losses: losing to MIT in the season opener 2-1 and dropping their home opener Tuesday night to Babson also 2-1. These losses have left the Brandeis womens team reeling as they attempt to right the ship out of their little rut.


X-Country runs over Bentley

Brandeis Mens and Womens cross country teams started the season well last Friday, markedly defeating Bentley College by scores of 15 to 50 for the men and 17 to 42 for the women. Both teams were able to hold strong leads from the beginning and retained their positions throughout the race.
