Brandeis womens basketball went on a low and high last weekend on a two game road swing. It started with falling to formerly 25th-ranked Washington University 50-69 last Friday but the team managed to rally over a sub-par offensive game to upset formerly fourth-ranked Chicago 57-48 last Sunday.

Super Bowl XLI features the Indianapolis Colts vs. the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The Bears are in the Super Bowl for first time since they won Super Bowl XX in 1986. The Colts appear in the Big Game for the first time since the Baltimore Colts beat the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V. This game features the third-ranked offense of the Colts against the Bears' defense, which is ranked fifth overall.
Both the men's and women's fencing teams competed last Saturday at the Northeast Conference meet at Brown University. The men were able to capture the league title while the women placed a respectable second. The final records were 5-1 for the women overall and a remarkable 6-0 overall for the men. Individual standouts were seen throughout the day and both the teams performances are great showings for this mid-season competition.

In your talk at Brandeis University on January 23, 2007, you reiterated the offer of $15,000 to anyone who could cite a single prominent Jewish leader who has equated criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism. We are writing to claim that reward.
This week, the Brandeis community was introduced to two committees, one to address and advise the Provost's office on “controversial” art exhibits and other events and another being created by the Student Union to review and establish a collective of Middle East events this Spring. The administration and the Union have every right to create these committees. After the controversy's surrounding the “Voices of Palestine” art exhibit last spring and the confusion from the Carter event, it is fair to suggest that there be an advisory board. However, there is a thin line that these committees must be careful not to cross: censoring ideas.
