After complaints of loud construction work in the former Ridgewood lot, the Student Union and the Department of Capital Projects has begun work to accommodate for nearby residents. Construction of the Ridgewood lot began in July, and is projected to continue until Spring 2009.

Brandeis University recently received a $450,000 grant to continue its partnership with Al-Quds University, sources within the Presidents Office have said. Al-Quds, which is the only Arab university in Jerusalem, has worked with Brandeis since 2003.
The universitys student-run board game club Game On returned from the summer vacation to find much of its inventory stolen, club administrators said. The club suffered between $85approximately eighty-five percent of its Spring 2007 budgetin losses.

Both the Men and Womens cross country teams arrived at Brandeis early to begin training for the upcoming season. After a successful season last fall, both squads are geared up to compete and extend the victories of past years.
At the beginning of the 2007 season, both the Mens and Womens soccer teams have reasons to be optimistic. The Mens side returns as the defending Eastern College Athletic Conference champion, winning the 2006 tournament with a 5-3 victory over New England College. The Womens team, meanwhile, has qualified for the postseason in four consecutive seasons, and in the last two years has advanced to the ECAC quarterfinals.
This has been one hell of a summer to be a sports fan. And thats not a sentence of praise. It is incredible how the problems with sports are very reminiscent of the wider problems of society in general the divide between the rich and the poor, players and fans, is at an all-time high, and the disconnect feels palpable.
In an effort to mobilize university students across the nation in a collective effort to fight global extreme poverty, the Brandeis anti-poverty group Positive Foundations (PF) is coordinating the Millennium Campus Network.
